About This Novel
Antara (525-615) was one of the poets of suspense poetry during the Arab savagery period. He was revered as a perfect heroic knight with both civil and military skills in ancient Arabia. "The Legend of Antara" is widely circulated in the Arab world and is a folk tale as famous as "One Thousand and One Nights". Because the protagonist is the son of an Arab king and a black slave, he is regarded as an illegitimate son by the people. The most important activity in his life was to propose to his cousin Ablay, but he suffered many hardships because of his family background.
