About This Novel
Anne Frank (1929-1945) was a Jewish girl born in Frankfurt, Germany. An asteroid numbered 5535 was named "5535 Annefrank" after her. During World War II, the Nazis implemented anti-Jewish laws. In order to escape persecution, Anne hid in a secret room with her parents. Anne's family hid here for 25 months, during which Anne recorded every bit of life here in a diary - this was her thirteenth birthday gift. She wrote about the confusion of growing up in this special environment, her expectations for love, her fear of war and persecution, but more importantly, her enthusiasm and hope for life. Her courage and amazing perseverance can be seen between the lines. "The Diary of Anne Frank (full color translation)" became a witness to the extermination of the Jews by Nazi Germany during World War II. After Anne's family was arrested, the diary was discovered and preserved by Mape Gies. It was republished as "The Diary of Anne Frank" in 1952. It has been translated into multiple languages and adapted into numerous plays and movies.
