About This Novel
We are watching, we are listening, we are feeling; we are laughing, we are distressed; occasionally there are days that we want to keep in our hearts and are difficult to replace. Maybe these are days when nothing happens; however, we are still waiting. We are waiting for something to come, or recalling the interesting things about light and shadow when we were young, or interpreting popular films in a unique way, or recording behind-the-scenes shots on the set. "Garbage Basket Cinema" may be the film utopia in Shunji Iwai's mind.
