About This Novel

The Southern Mail Line is thrilling. Can we really believe this tranquility? The trade wind blows constantly to the south, blowing through this desert like silk, making a rustling sound. The winds in continental Europe are swirling and lingering; the winds here are not. The oncoming wind was like the wind encountered by a speeding train, pressing heavily on our heads. Sometimes, the night is cruel to us, and when we turn to face the north, we can actually lean against this wall of wind, as if we are about to be blown up by the wind and go upwind to an unknown dark place. What a swift wind, how disturbing!
