About This Novel

Who hasn't had some tragedy in their life? Leaving the hometown town and heading to Brooklyn, who is not forced to make a living? With his mother missing and life in trouble, 8-year-old August moved from Tennessee to Brooklyn with his father and younger brother. There, she, who was originally lonely and had low self-esteem, met three close friends who also came from a foreign land: Sylvia, Angela and Kiki. They play together, share secrets, relieve loneliness, and comfort each other. They are full of hope and look at this new world with pure eyes, trying to believe that Brooklyn is a bright place where all their dreams can come true. However, crisis-ridden Brooklyn is not as beautiful as they imagined. While welcoming a new life, it is also accompanied by deep anxiety. They gradually feel the difficulty of integrating, and the life trajectories of the four people will eventually go in different directions...
