Outline of the History of Chinese Literature (collected Works Compiled by Lu Xun)
by Lu Xun
About This Novel
The book was originally a handout compiled by Lu Xun when he was teaching a course on the history of Chinese literature at Xiamen University in 1923, titled "A Brief History of Chinese Literature"; it was used again the following year when he was teaching the same course at Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou, and was retitled "An Outline of the History of Ancient Chinese Literature". It was not officially published during the author's lifetime, but was renamed when it was compiled into "The Complete Works of Lu Xun" in 1938. Although the book only writes about the two Sima of the Western Han Dynasty, in this short ten-section lecture notes, it has its own characteristics in terms of material selection, style and viewpoints, so it plays an important role in the field of Chinese literary history research.
