About This Novel
Gada, gada... Two hesitant footsteps sounded at the end of the stairs. Suddenly, the voice-activated light in the corridor on the second floor turned on, and a woman with long hair took a step back in panic. The woman looked at the doors on both sides to make sure no one came out, then she swallowed and walked cautiously to the third floor. The woman's long hair was permed into big waves, but it could be seen that it had not been taken care of for a long time and was very dry. She had no makeup, her face was sallow, and she was wearing a lotus-colored chiffon top with the hem tucked into a dark green skirt, and a pair of beige carrot-heeled leather shoes on her feet. The woman seemed to have dressed up carefully, but she still failed to keep up with the trend. She tiptoed to the third floor, looked around and saw that no one was around. She raised her hand and knocked lightly on the door on the right, but unexpectedly, with a creak, the door opened.
