This book aims to trace the origins of the "Western Transmission of Confucianism", starting from the cataloging and compilation of Chinese and foreign Confucian translations by missionaries who came to China in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. It mainly focuses on the Confucian translations of the three religious orders, the Jesuits, the Dominicans, and the Franciscans, who played an important role in the "Chinese Rituals Controversy." On this basis, based on their different attitudes towards Confucian culture, the missionary groups to China were refined into three factions: "supporting cultural adaptation policy", "opposing cultural adaptation policy" and "cultural reconciliation faction". With the help of the research path of "conceptual history", "Heaven", "God", "Tai Chi", "Ghosts and Gods", etc. This article sorts out the different understandings of the highly controversial Confucian concepts among missionaries in China, and explores how they separate the original "name" and "reality" of Confucian concepts in a cross-cultural context, artificially reconstruct them, and assign them new contextual meanings to realize their own arguments and arguments.
