About This Novel
The script of "Whip" (drama, also known as "Fog in Chongqing") describes a group of young people who fled to Chongqing. Due to their poverty and poverty, some were fortune tellers, some were socialites, and some opened restaurants. Some of them died of tuberculosis because they were not good at flattery, some of them made a fortune through smuggling, and they fell into ruin, or some of them had their reputations ruined at the hands of politicians. The author angrily reveals that Chongqing, the "capital capital" much promoted by the Kuomintang, is nothing more than a flowery world for the Kuomintang's high-ranking officials and a den of sin that corrodes the hearts of young people and weakens the will to fight against Japan. This is the first excellent realist drama since the Anti-Japanese War that profoundly exposes the criminal society in the Kuomintang-ruled areas.
