About This Novel
Ten years ago I read his novel in the university library, and ten years later I was able to meet him. To say "opportunity comes" seems pretentious and mysterious; but the fact is that he is one of the few writers I have never stopped paying attention to over the years; and he came to my hometown of Yunnan and now lives only three hours' drive away from me. In addition, I would like to add one thing: before meeting him, I had a gut feeling that he would not refuse my visit. This is critical and important. He is very friendly, generous and gentle. It was only during the conversation that his edge as an "avant-garde novelist" emerged. Literary aside, he was a humble, gracious, considerate man. Aren't these the most beautiful qualities of a person?
