About This Novel
Joseph K. Was a bank assistant. He was suddenly arrested one day, but the charges were not announced and he was still free to move. He ran around and met many people, including lawyers, maids, businessmen, painters, priests... In order to clear his name, he experienced many weird and incredible things that seemed very "reasonable". Kafka, who was trained in law, used K's experience to depict the cruelty and decay of the modern Western state machine. He used various seemingly bizarre behaviors and language to show the absurdity and fear that ordinary people have nowhere to escape, and to show a "trial" that has no reason, nowhere to escape, and no solution.
