About This Novel
NOTE: This is a brief history. The greatest fear of the 1950s was nuclear war. From the Soviet perspective, placing a communist bastion so close to the U. S. Border was a dream come true. In the early 1960s, there were undercurrents in U. S.-Soviet relations. In addition to the heavy casualties and humiliation at the Bay of Pigs, other things were happening. Drawing sand as a boundary, the entire world is on the verge of nuclear war.
