About This Novel

Through the different perspectives of Ye Mingsheng and Ye Chongyang, it tells the first-person story of how Ye Chongyang, Lu Zhaochen, Ye Mingsheng, Yin Chen and others pursued the value of life when faced with complicated family conflicts and emotional entanglements. The protagonists of "Mallow", Ye Chongyang and Ye Mingsheng, are siblings. Their blood is thicker than water, but they have completely different personalities. The rebellious and stubborn sister is very fragile in her heart, longing for love, but afraid of the harm that will follow. Living in a shaky family since childhood has made the younger brother Ye Ming grow up to be a tolerant and reserved character. Ge; Lu Zhaochen, who lives in the same courtyard as Ye Chongyang, they accompany each other and are attracted to each other, but they love each other in a very extreme way from beginning to end, torturing and hurting each other. Coupled with the obstruction of their parents and the intervention of the third person Tang Xin, this relationship has been bumpy and ups and downs, and in the end they still cannot escape the prison of fate.

Some people say that we should be grateful for all the hardships of fate, but I never think so. The meaning of life lies in the pursuit of a beautiful self, rather than suffering from pain. No pain is inherently something we should bear. Pain can only increase the weight of life. I am never grateful. On the contrary, I am grateful for the self that constantly overcomes pain and endures hardships. That self is brave and fearless. Just like I never thought about how outstanding and dazzling I would be, I just hope that, a hundred years later, if someone passes by my tombstone, she will say. . . . .

I think this is a very heavy book, which really maximizes the ugliness of human nature. It's like the character Ye Chongyang was born and destined to be miserable. He finally dared to love, but in the end, he was brought back to his original shape through twists and turns, as if fate had made a joke. Fortunately, the final ending is still good. I have heard a saying before that all novels come from the fact that life is higher than life. Maybe some people really have no worries about food and clothing throughout their lives, and some people will be swallowed up by life to the point of being left intact. It's really ironic but so true.

The writing of the work is smooth, but the storyline is too depressing,
