About This Novel

I don't quite understand
I don't know why so many novels feature heroines chasing criminal suspects alone regardless of their own safety even though they know they are sick. It would be fine if the heroine was the only one with IQ in the whole novel, but there is also a male protagonist, and the heroine doesn't know how to defend herself and persists even though she has a high fever. Maybe this is true in reality, but isn't this really a hindrance at this time? Or deliver yourself into the hands of a criminal suspect? Become his life-saving talisman? When I think about it, having a high fever and persisting is really strong. I always feel that this is actually irresponsible to myself! But this is a novel after all! The plot line is also okay!
