About This Novel
"Zuo Zhuan" is an important classic of Chinese history and literature. By interpreting the text of "Zuo Zhuan", this book attempts to grasp the principles and models for interpreting past events contained in it. Obtained a doctorate from Princeton University in 1987, focusing on late Ming and Qing literature, pre-Qin and Han historical works, etc. He is the author of "Inducing Fantasy and Warning Fantasy: Love and Dreams in Chinese Literature", "Writing and Interpretation of "Zuo Zhuan"", and "Women and National Disasters in the Ming and Qing Dynasties and Their Echoes". He edited "Trauma and Transcendence in Early Qing Literature". In addition, he collaborated with Du Runde and Jia Bo on the English translation of "Zuo Zhuan".
