History and Sovereignty of the South China Sea
About This Novel
The South China Sea dispute has always been the focus of international attention. British international law expert Anthony Carty collected historical archives from Britain, France and other countries to prove that China has historic rights in the South China Sea. Since the 1970s, disputes have arisen between six countries and seven parties over China's sovereignty over islands and reefs in the South China Sea and jurisdiction over some maritime areas. In recent years, major powers outside the region have used the South China Sea dispute as an excuse to intervene in South China Sea affairs in order to seek political, economic and strategic interests. Professor Anthony Carty clarified the issue of sovereignty over the South China Sea Islands by reviewing the files on the ownership of the South China Sea Islands by France, the United Kingdom and the United States since the end of the 19th century. The files show that the sovereignty of the South China Sea Islands belongs to China, and this fact is also recognized by Western countries, Vietnam and other parties involved in the dispute. This book is of great significance for our country to resolve disputes in the South China Sea, stabilize the situation in the South China Sea, and discuss the "Code of Conduct in the South China Sea."

The entire text of this book explains, demonstrates, and confirms one truth, that is, the sovereignty of the South China Sea belongs to China from ancient times to the present.

Scholars have collected historical data to prove that the sovereignty of the South China Sea has belonged to China from ancient times to the present.
Anthony Carty, a famous British international law professor, spent nearly ten years clearly stating in the book "History and Sovereignty of the South China Sea" that China's position on the South China Sea issue is reasonable. However, recently, the Philippines has frequently staged farces in the South China Sea under the instigation of external forces. Carty believes that this is unreasonable. China should continue to defend its legitimate rights and interests in the South China Sea and inject positive force into maintaining regional peace and stability.
This book is so good. Professor Carty described in detail his review of the archives. He found that the archives of the British and French foreign ministries showed that their legal advisers had repeatedly discussed issues related to the Nansha Islands and Paracel Islands more than 100 years ago. The legal advisers of the British and French foreign ministries reached a unanimous conclusion based on Western international legal standards that these islands belong to China. Professor Kati's research on the South China Sea issue was not conducted from the perspective of Chinese history, but from the Western perspective of international law. In his view, according to relevant provisions of international law, these islands belong to China. China does have sovereignty over the South China Sea Islands.
