About This Novel

Over thousands of years, humans have devised many ingenious and cruel ways to inflict pain on their fellow humans. This sad but seemingly universal trait corrodes the very civilization humans strive for. Although we seem to abhor torture today, it has been an integral part of much of the law throughout Europe and the Far East for more than 3,000 years. A Brief History of Human Torture explores various methods of punishment, torture, coercion, and torture. It takes readers into the ancient Roman arena, medieval dungeons, the Inquisition, the Inquisition, witch trials and the most brutal prisons. This is a shocking and compelling study that reveals the shameful methods and motives of torturers and executioners, as well as the heinous acts they have committed throughout the ages.

A brief history of torture. I couldn't see many methods of torture. Could the title of the book be better? Does it fit the content of the book, or maybe you went off topic?

You don't know the ancient tortures, and you will be shocked when you look at them. I am terrified every day like this. I see the cruelty and coldness of human beings in torturing their companions.

Although torture is banned in modern times, it is still used secretly in 2/3 of the countries in the world. Many governments still allow their officials to illegally abuse torture with impunity.

Governments that endorse the use of torture are often weak and fearful (such as the earliest primitive societies and modern Third World dictatorships).

It was a free viewing, and I was worried that I wouldn't be able to finish it, so I watched it in the middle of the night. I didn't read it carefully, I only skimmed it once, and I was still a little scared. I think it would be better to watch it during the day🤑
