In January 2015, the Stanford University sexual assault case shocked the United States. The suspect, Brock Turner, was a rising star swimmer who had participated in the Olympic qualifying competition. Facing an unfair trial in court, the victim used the pseudonym Emily to make a court statement. This statement is considered one of the most important historical documents in the United States since "Uncle Tom's Cabin." The then US Vice President Biden issued an open letter to express his support for her. As a result of the case, California fired the trial judge and changed its sexual assault legislation. She is not Emily, she is Chanel Miller, a Chinese girl whose Chinese name is Zhang Xiaoxia. She is not a symbolic victim, but will regain healing, dignity and strength in her writing for herself and for all girls who have suffered pain.
