I Was Still Young Then and You Didn't Understand Love Either
by Peng Pai
About This Novel
When you were fifteen or sixteen, did you ever think about what you would look like when you were thirty? When you were fifteen or sixteen years old, did you ever feel that you were unique in the world? All the badness and humbleness of adults will not appear in you? When you were fifteen or sixteen, were you filled with the courage to conquer the world? Peng Pai starts from the perspective of "My high school classmate got married", recalls the high school years, and uses consistently concise and precise words to explore the lost youth and the unforgettable love that has no response. This is a story and a mirror. What we see in the mirror are different people, but similar youth, similar love, and similar you and me.

Regarding those youth that passed by in a hurry, I seem to only remember you, and it seems that you are the only one I remember
This is not the first time I have read Peng Pai's book. As for why I like it, I can't tell exactly why. Maybe it's his seriousness about life, or maybe it's the humor in his writing. Reading his books makes people feel relaxed. I like the warmth in his words and his harmless jokes. He records the past in the simplest words, but it seems that it is not just his past, because you will always find your own shadow in his stories.
