About This Novel
This manuscript is divided into two parts. The first part is the author's recording, continuation and rewriting of the folk song "Xintianyou" in northern Shaanxi. Xintianyou is a kind of folk song bred in the Loess Plateau that is highly random, composed on a whim, sung freely, and can be expressed without restriction. The author took advantage of his long-term walks in the countryside to collect more than a hundred folk songs sung by the people, and recorded the time, place and name of the singers when the folk songs were collected. The second part is Xintianyou-style poems written by the author to express his feelings. Because the author has deep feelings for northern Shaanxi folk songs and is familiar with folk song literature, his poems have a strong flavor of folk song literature.
