About This Novel
This set of books is the first complete work of Shakespeare in verse in the Chinese-speaking world. The original form of Shakespeare's drama is a verse drama, which is a verse drama with blank verse as its basic form. Translating poetry into verse, trying to make the translation closer to the original appearance of Shakespeare's drama in terms of tone and language rhythm, is the ultimate appeal of this version. This new set of "The Complete Works of Shakespeare" fully absorbs the latest results of international Shakespeare studies, and includes a total of thirty-nine Shakespeare plays (in addition to the traditional thirty-seven, it also includes two plays, "The Two Noblesse" and "Edward III"). The poetry part was only confirmed in the 1980s and 1990s. It is believed that the "Complete Collection" of Shakespeare's long poem "Mourning", with more than 4.7 Million words, can be regarded as the most comprehensive collection, the most sophisticated collation in the entire Chinese-speaking world, and the first poetic Chinese translation of the complete works of Shakespeare that is both academic and readable. The publication of this "Complete Collection" will be of milestone significance. The "Poetry Volume" includes "Venus and Adonis", "The Lost Virginity of Lucrece", "Sonnets", "The Complaints of a Lover", "The Passionate Pilgrim", "The Phoenix and the Turtle Dove", "Mourning" and appendices.
