About This Novel
The islands in Changdao County were the land of Lai barbarians in ancient times. During the Qin, Han, Jin and Sui dynasties, it belonged to Huang County (now Longkou City). It has belonged to Penglai County since the third year of Shenlong in the Tang Dynasty (707 AD). In 1929, the Shandong Provincial Government established the Changshan Island Administrative District, which was originally drawn from Penglai County and directly under the jurisdiction of Shandong Province. In 1935, the area belonged to Penglai. After the first liberation in 1945, the Changshan Island Special Economic Zone was established, which was subordinate to the Beihai Prefecture. It was occupied by the Kuomintang in 1947. After the second liberation in 1949, the Changshan Island Special Economic Zone was restored. In 1956, Changdao County was established.
