The Zhang family's internal magazine "Water" was founded in 1929 and is still edited and published spontaneously today, becoming a cultural phenomenon of a traditional Chinese family. "Water" not only produced four sisters and six brothers of the Zhang family, but also cultivated relatives and friends who had contact with the Zhang family. It contains current reviews, essays, sketches, science, drama, Kunqu opera, autobiography, calligraphy and painting, and photography. Its content is all-encompassing and carries the changes in modern Chinese history. The publication was suspended during the Anti-Japanese War, but was resumed in Beijing in 1996. Zhang Yunhe, wife of Zhou Youguang, served as editor-in-chief, and was later handed over to Zhang Huanhe and Shen Longzhu. The evolution of publications from paper to online, from home to global distribution, has become a continuation of history.
