About This Novel

This manuscript is a collection of non-fiction + interviews, that is, the author Lin Donglin's non-fiction text follows seven famous poets (Zhang Zhihao, Yang Li, Zang Di, Lan Lan, Yu Nu, Chen Xianfa, Lei Pingyang) who revisited their hometown, as well as Lin Donglin's long interviews with the seven poets. Revisiting one's hometown includes a realistic return to one's hometown, as well as a spiritual return to one's hometown. The seven poets were all born in the 1960s. This generation has generally experienced themes such as leaving and running away, which coincides with the great changes in contemporary China over the past thirty or forty years. During this change, why poets became poets and what the hometown means in reality, that is, at the spiritual level, are the key issues in the interviews in this book. At the same time, the seven poets have in-depth elaborations and unique expressions on professional topics such as personal poetic paths, creative experiences, and new poetry aesthetics.
