I have to say that this is indeed a good book. I originally came to read The Scholars to prepare for the high school entrance examination. This book happened to have a short biography of characters, and I was impressed by the author's literary quality and ideological discussion. It was so good, and it was as cordial as a close friend introducing me to the story of this book. It talked about criticizing the feudal imperial examinations in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The language was humorous and interesting, and I didn't feel bored. On the contrary, the more I read, the better I got. I rarely feel this way anymore, and I was very happy about it.
