About This Novel
Hong Lingfei (1902-1934), a modern writer, had pen names such as Lin Manqing, Lin Yinnan, and Li Tielang. A native of Chaozhou, Guangdong. Born into a poor peasant family, he began to engage in manual labor at the age of 6, and later went to Guangdong Normal University to study. As a student, he actively participated in the revolutionary movement. After the failure of the Great Revolution, he was wanted by the Kuomintang and was forced to go into exile in neighboring countries such as Singapore. Participated in the publication of "Our Monthly". When the "Left-Left Alliance" was established in 1930, he was one of the seven-member Standing Committee. Hong Lingfei was arrested by the Kuomintang in 1933. After his arrest, Hong Lingfei adhered to the party's secrets and remained unyielding. Around the Mid-Autumn Festival in 1934, Hong Lingfei, who was only 32 years old, was shot dead in Yuhuatai, Nanjing. His main works include "Exile", "Frontline", In the Torrent, On the Road, Returning Home, The Betrayer of Strength, etc.
