About This Novel
Red is destined to be the background color of my life. In the late 1950s, in the history of New China's economic construction, there was a "Great Leap Forward" movement with high targets as its main symbol. In agriculture, it proposed "taking grain as the key link" and promoted "high-yielding satellites" and "how bold the people are, how productive the land is", and the grain yield per mu increased step by step; in industry, the target of steel production of more than 10 million tons per year was set, and the "National Steelmaking Movement" was launched across the country, and "taking steel as the key link" was proposed to drive the development ideas of the "Great Leap Forward" in other industries. It was against this general social background that my hometown in the rural areas of northern Fujian, like all parts of the country, vigorously launched a movement to engage in agricultural production and make steel at the same time.
