About This Novel
"The Wardrobe" is a collection of novels by Olga Tokarczuk, the winner of the 2018 Nobel Prize for Literature, and includes three works. Among them, "The Wardrobe" tells the story of a couple who were attracted by an old wardrobe that was as mysterious as an energy pit, and eventually lived in it and refused to come out; the narrator of "Room Number" is "I" who is a room attendant. In the story, "I" wander around different rooms of the Capital Hotel, following clues to capture the clues left by guests. "Goddess" is about a programming genius who is like the god of creation. He constantly builds new worlds with programs, but is repeatedly disappointed with human beings... In these surreal stories, Tokarczuk uses her unique "fourth-person narrative" to explore the hidden world beyond daily experience. This book is directly translated from the original Polish work, and specifically includes literary interviews Tokarczuk accepted at the "Quotation Marks International Literary Festival" she planned and organized.
