About This Novel
The second part of Elena Ferrante's "Neapolitan Quartet" describes the youth of Elena and Lila. When I read the first part, I felt it was a bit boring because I could no longer remember my childhood, but the second part really describes a lot of trivial details in life. Although the times are different, people always seem to be entangled with these endless little thoughts, ideals, pursuits, love, family affection, entanglement and melancholy. Looking for their own shadow between Lenon and Lina, and also looking for the shadow of the people around them. Time is meaningless, how you spend it and how you enrich yourself is more important.

Two women, two personalities, two completely different lives. Sometimes you will like someone, and sometimes you will dislike someone. These two people are very real.
The friendship between the two is really weird, but so real. Pulling you to face your childhood self. At that time, we were all small shadows next to our dazzling friends. We didn't know how to hide our shortcomings, so we knew each other's bad thoughts. Lina, the center of the universe, was once very annoying. I saw people who had lost their self-esteem because of life, and recalled all the abrupt things our old acquaintances did for passion, women, and men. Maybe they were stupid, maybe they hurt each other, but this is living life.
It's very delicate, and its grasp of female friendship is very accurate. We both envy and love each other.
Life may be like this. Most country people were not born in A, and then spent their entire lives trying to get closer to the culture and life of city B. When you return to A, the people in your hometown will sneer with disdain, "Heh, people from city B," and the people from city B will look at this foreigner with the same disdain. The link between A and B may be that you and your childhood best friend sometimes compete, sometimes cherish each other, and sometimes despise each other.
