The Story of a New Name (original Work from Season 2 of "my Brilliant Girlfriend")
About This Novel
The second part of Elena Ferrante's "Neapolitan Quartet" describes the youth of Elena and Lila. Lila discovers on her wedding day that marriage is not what she imagined and her first night is almost a rape. She intervenes in Stefano's family business with a strong desire to destroy. Lila and Elena, who have not been pregnant for a long time, go to the beach to recuperate. And that summer in Ischia changed everyone's life. Out of anger at the love Lila had, "I" (Elena) became the first college student on the block, got engaged to a boy from a high-class intellectual family, and published her first novel. I returned to Naples, only to find that Lila, who had said goodbye to her ugly marriage, was working humiliatingly in a meat processing factory. When I discovered that my novel had completely stolen the unique power and inspiration from the secret notebook Lila had entrusted to me, I was forced to face a question: Who left and who stayed between Lila and me?

When I read the first part, I felt it was a bit boring because I could no longer remember my childhood, but the second part really describes a lot of trivial details in life. Although the times are different, people always seem to be entangled with these endless little thoughts, ideals, pursuits, love, family affection, entanglement and melancholy. Looking for their own shadow between Lenon and Lina, and also looking for the shadow of the people around them. Time is meaningless, how you spend it and how you enrich yourself is more important.
reality
Two women, two personalities, two completely different lives. Sometimes you will like someone, and sometimes you will dislike someone. These two people are very real.
The friendship between the two is really weird, but so real. Pulling you to face your childhood self. At that time, we were all small shadows next to our dazzling friends. We didn't know how to hide our shortcomings, so we knew each other's bad thoughts. Lina, the center of the universe, was once very annoying. She would coax you when she needed you, but seemed to stay away from you when you didn't help. "I love him, but I love you more" is all bullshit. It's all because you haven't met a man who can give up everything for him. When you meet true love, who will remember what friendship is. Rather than struggling with knowledge and academic qualifications, it is better to say that we are struggling with class.
For many years, it has been rare to see such a diligent and hard-working novel. It is true and simple!
I'm honored to read such a novel. Maybe each of us is so unconfident in ourselves. We have also walked out of the small village, and our thoughts have changed at every step. The author described our past with such truth and emotion. I saw people who had lost their self-esteem because of life, and recalled all the abrupt things our old acquaintances did for passion, women, and men. Maybe they were stupid, maybe they hurt each other, but this is living life.
It's very delicate, and its grasp of female friendship is very accurate. We both envy and love each other.
Life may be like this. Most country people were not born in A, and then spent their entire lives trying to get closer to the culture and life of city B. When you return to A, the people in your hometown will sneer with disdain, "Heh, people from city B," and the people from city B will look at this foreigner with the same disdain. The link between A and B may be that you and your childhood best friend sometimes compete, sometimes cherish each other, and sometimes despise each other. This is the only relationship that makes you feel good. This is true, this is not a dream, but what will happen in the end, who knows?
About the pain between change and being unable to fight******
If you work hard, it's all worth it.
I feel real and vivid in the simple and plain sentences. I don't have time to think about it now. I just want to finish reading it and feel the vivid emotional touch it brings to me.
So pretty! I almost read it in one sitting,
It's like meeting a good friend who hasn't seen you for many years and has a lot of experience.
The power Lila possesses also affects the way I live now.
