About This Novel

This book selects Aimee's novellas, the most famous of which is "Transfiguration". Raoul has a successful career and a happy family. His only regret is his ugly appearance. One day, he suddenly found that he had become young and beautiful. This face was like an invisible wall that separated him from his previous life. He lived in seclusion in Paris under a pseudonym and continued to interact with his secretary, relatives, friends and lovers. His friend Julien suspected that he had killed Raoul and pretended to be an impostor. This novel became popular in Europe and the United States as soon as it came out. The supernatural and weird conception, realistic description, and philosophical implications make this novel a masterpiece comparable to Kafka's "The Metamorphosis".
