Ulysses (english Version)
About This Novel
"Ulysses" was first serialized in the American magazine "The Little Review" from 1918 until it ended in 1920. It was later published as a full book. It was subsequently recognized as "one of the most important literary works in modern literature". The so-called "Ulysses" is Homer's "Odyssey". The book has nearly 270,000 words (English) and uses 30,030 vocabulary words. As soon as it was published, it aroused great curiosity. Because the author uses "stream of consciousness", a popular psychological research technique in the early 20th century, and carefully considers the layout, the book uses many distinctive methods such as puns, metaphors, and humor. It is now recognized as "the most remarkable novel". In 1998, the Modern Library of America listed this novel among the "Best Novels in the English-speaking World of the 20th Century" and ranked it at the top of the list, which shows how much influence this novel had on 20th century literature.
