Hua Xia's Writing (part 2)
by Chen Shixu
About This Novel
It's a good rain: in mid-spring, it's like smoke, drifting down silently. And everything that is shrouded: banyan trees, eucalyptus trees, palm trees, phoenix trees, bougainvillea and water lilies, green grass, cobblestone roads, boulders, sculptures, pavilions, bridges and archways, are looming, yet wet and transparent. Everything becomes hazy because of the rain, and everything becomes bright because of the hazyness. All the dust disappears in the rain, and all the restlessness stops in the rain. Leaving behind a rich green, a pure blue, and a clean mood. The washed soul flies out of the body and dances lightly in the rain. The news of spring is everywhere, and the rhythm of vigorous life is everywhere.
