As the most unique of Yan Geling's self-selected novels and short stories, "Taiko" tells the story of a girl's growth and is a collection of Yan Geling's autobiographical novels. The titles include: "Sister Liu La", "Old Man", "Jiao Er Zhu Yijin", "Dark Shadow", "The Story of Xiao Gu Yan", "Pear Blossom Epidemic", "Slipper Brigade", "Gray Dance Shoes", "Wizard", "Mouse" and "I am not an Elf". Eleven short stories and short stories. Various people and events in the protagonist Suiko's growth, including childhood relatives, childhood companions, and teenage crushes. The rebellious young girl is entangled in the troubled times of revolution, turmoil, destruction, and sexual enlightenment, but the writing style is light and simple. A rare combination of female vision, historical memory and personal experience, sublimated because of the narrative.

After reading Youth, I read Suizi again. The writing is very delicate. I seem to have seen my weird self in childhood. I was very touched. The second half feels like a repetition of the chapter of Youth. The kind-hearted He Xiaoping in Youth is similar but different from the mouse in this book. It's confusing...
