About This Novel

One day in March 1997, the White House Secret Service called me and asked me to go to the Old Executive Building of the White House to apply for a press pass. I was particularly excited because it is not easy to apply for a White House press card. Many Chinese journalists who have worked in Washington for three or four years cannot get this small card. And I had only arrived in the United States for two months. I still don't know why I am so "lucky". With it, I can often visit the White House. Gradually I became aware of many of the stories from the White House Press Room.
