Life is gray, but lemons are fresh. A shaky soul counts the days to live, and becomes melancholy, frustrated, out of place, escaping, lonely, sick, and destroyed. However, the joy of life always makes people reluctant to give up. What saves people is the small life in the end, so only a lemon or a glass marble can lead to self-care happiness. Kajii Motojiro used words to record the trivial, seemingly meaningless, subtle changes and consciousness phenomena in social life. He did not use clever words to modify it but was faithful to his inner expression needs. He used clear words to express the true appearance of the unfortunate souls in modern life. Therefore, he was known as the "Classic of the Showa". Writers such as Mishima Yukio have stated that they were influenced by him.
