The Palace of the Sun was, and is, a not-so-famous place in Beijing. Sometimes my mother would take me to stay at Taiyang Palace for two days. Taiyang Palace was in the countryside, and it took half a day to take a tricycle out of Dongzhimen. The best time to go to the Sun Palace is late summer and early autumn. The weather gradually turns cooler in the morning and evening, and various fruits begin to go off the market. The climate is neither cold nor hot. It is a season for people to play and eat. I like this season. Taiyang Palace was also the beginning of my contact with the countryside. From here, I learned what "countryside" is, what is retting manure, watering the ground, weeding, and tipping. Even after the "Cultural Revolution", I went to the countryside to join the queue and looked at the rivers and canals in other places. The yellow dog Baiyang didn't feel unfamiliar.
