Lu Da is a native of Lujia Village, Yonggu Township, Linzhou, and his nickname is Lu Dafu. Because he is the eldest son in the family, people have called him Lu Da Lu Dadi since he was a child. As time went by, they forgot his name. Lu Da was born in 1950 and is 57 years old this year. Like all the farmer brothers in northern Shaanxi, he has suffered from hunger, cold and a lot of hardships. The change in Lu Da's destiny began in 1997, when he was 47 years old. There are nine hills in Lujia Village, with thick layers of high-quality coal underneath. When the country vigorously developed the Linzhou coalfield, it caused great shock in the local area. A few farmer friends came to Lu Da for discussion and said: "You are the village chief of Lujia Village. There is coal underground in Lujia Village. We have been poor all our lives.
