About This Novel

On Thursday, June 21, 2007, the Japanese poet left, the Portuguese poet left, and I heard that the old Swedish poet Mr. Jurgen was also leaving early. I met him and his family again at breakfast, sat down to say goodbye to them, and ended up chatting lively for a while. Taking the elevator downstairs, I was in the elevator room with the Armenian poet Uchanik Tamrezian, whom I met at breakfast. This poetess born in 1978 is not ugly at all, beautiful and mysterious. She does not often appear in public. She always comes in and out alone. Her poems are not separated into lines (prose poems?) And are of the type with many words that I cannot understand. Her English resume hides how she came to Rotterdam: she studied French at university and was the Armenian translator of the French master Bonnefoy who was also at the conference.
