
About This Novel
The novel takes Xiong Kewu, a revolutionary pioneer in the late Qing Dynasty, as the protagonist. By describing the several revolutionary armed uprisings launched by people with lofty ideals represented by him in Luzhou, Chengdu, Xufu, Guang'an, Jiading, Pingshan and other places in Sichuan a hundred years ago, the novel truly reproduces the ups and downs and magnificent events of 1911. The novel successfully depicts heroic figures such as Sun Yat-sen, Xiong Kewu, Dan Maoxin, Xie Fengqi, Sheying, and Yu Peilun, and eulogizes their struggle to overthrow the feudal monarchy, following successive defeats, fighting without fear of sacrifice, and fighting bravely.
