Thinking About Returning Home at Dusk
by Yu Qiuyu
About This Novel
This book is Mr. Yu Qiuyu's latest collection of prose works in recent years. It is also a twilight scholar's concluding thoughts on life and culture. It can be said that the founder of "cultural prose" has dedicated a "little cultural prose" to explore the ultimate meaning of life and the supreme quality of culture with noble conciseness. The book is divided into three parts: the first part, "The Fulcrum of Life", presents the author's life beliefs and philosophy of life; the second part, "Thousands of Miles into the Heart", awakens various discoveries and feelings in the journey of life; the third part, "Searching for Souls in Literature and History," reveals the basic appearance of high-level culture and sorts out a series of highlights of Chinese cultural context.

Learn to despise foul language as intolerable. The question is: Who made you endure it? Calling your name doesn't have to make you endure it, just like the little boy in the market If you pull up your sleeves, you can walk away quickly. It doesn't mean you have to endure it just because it's in your face, it's like a gutter There is a smell that you don't have to stop to savor. Never argue with them. The reason is that they set the questions and dug the traps, and there is no real referee. It's like being dragged to their backyard for a "basketball game." Many kind-hearted people are always defeated time and time again in other people's backyards. They said you had scars on your back. Did you take off your clothes in public to show them in order to prove your innocence? Please note that taking off your clothes in public is more serious than having scars on your back. Because it hinders others and goes against public ethics. And when those hecklers see you taking off your shirt, they will point at your pants. The only thing we can offer to such hecklers is contempt.
Good books are worth sharing
It reads with a tone that is both poetic and rational. The three fulcrums of life proposed in it - "great enlightenment, great love, and great beauty", and the three aspects of culture, namely "the solitary and quiet aspect of culture", "the strange aspect of culture", and "the natural aspect of culture" gave me great inspiration. The writing is as beautiful as ever.
Culture is a kind of spiritual freedom, the freedom of spiritual attributes outside the material world. The Chinese culture is broad and profound and is definitely not an empty talk. The more you understand, the more you will be in awe.
