About This Novel

"Little Women" is a semi-autobiographical novel by Louisa May Alcott. During the American Civil War, Mr. March traveled with the army, leaving his wife and four daughters behind to live a simple, warm, hopeful and energetic life despite poverty. The four girls have different personalities and have their own ideals and destiny. In the face of temptation, desire, fear, and even life and death, Mrs. March always stood beside her daughters gently and guided them to make their own choices. The tempering of life and the protection of love eventually make them grow into kind, independent, optimistic and confident, shining little women.
