In the winter of the Cultural Revolution, a long march team composed of junior high school students, carrying luggage on their shoulders, set off from the campus in western Shanxi and arrived in Beijing via Yan'an, Shaoshan, Jinggangshan, Shanghai and other places. They crossed plateaus, drilled ravines, crossed the Qinling Mountains, went up to Taihang, braved cold winds, braved heavy snow, endured hunger, stayed in snowy fields, lived in cold rooms, squeezed into trains, tortured their bones and muscles, and sharpened their will.
