About This Novel
This is the tragic story of a nineteen-year-old policeman. The novel uses "my" memories to tell the story of how after the Tangshan earthquake in the 1970s, she was sent to Qingshuihe Labor Camp to support earthquake relief work. There she met Lu Xiaoxiang, and the two had a passionate first love. Due to the unfortunate abnormality of society, Lu Xiaoxiang's humanitarian thoughts and emotions, and all his actions, became evidence that he sabotaged earthquake relief and sympathized with counter-revolutionaries. He was imprisoned, and ultimately survived the bullets of his closest relatives and friends.
