About This Novel

Wang Shifu's "The Romance of the West Chamber" and "A Dream of Red Mansions" are known as the two gems in Chinese classical literature and art, and have the greatest influence in the history of opera. This book is based on "The Romance of the Western Chamber" engraved by Ling Shuchu in the Nuanhong Room, and is collated with various Ming and Qing dynasty editions such as Hongzhi Beijing Yue's Edition, Wang Boliang's Edition, and Liu Longtian's Engraved Edition. The collation notes are listed in the annotations, and the annotations are detailed.
