About This Novel
There is an "information entropy layer" in the universe - it is the "underlying code" of all matter and energy, similar to the "memory bank" of the universe. Under normal circumstances, the information entropy layer will slowly repair itself, but a certain type of virtual skeleton civilization (non-entity, in the form of "information gap") that lives by "devouring information entropy" is accelerating the collapse of the entropy layer by "virtual stars". When a star's information entropy is swallowed up, it will not explode, but will become an "empty shell". Its gravitational field, light radiation and other physical properties will gradually "fail" with the loss of information, and eventually "eradicate traces of existence" from the universe. Humanity is not passively responding to the crisis, but unexpectedly discovered that there is a "native information anchor" hidden deep in the core of the earth - a "zero-entropy fragment" left over from the birth of the universe. It can not only resist the void civilization, but can also be used to "rewrite the local entropy layer". However, the price of "rewriting" is: the "causal chain" of the rewritten area will be distorted (for example, a person's memory or a certain period of history will disappear out of thin air). The core conflict in the story is the attitude of different camps towards the "information anchor": some want to use it to "protect mankind", some want to use it to "control the rules of the universe", and some believe that "the collapse of the entropy layer is the natural cycle of the universe and should not be interfered with."
