This book is a Yuefu research paper selected from the papers published by the author over the past thirty years. Because its content covers a wide range of topics, it is titled "Medieval Yuefu in a Broad View". The whole book includes five aspects of content. The first one is "Medieval Theory of Yuefu Studies", which explores the original ecological issues of Yuefu works; and discusses the discussion of Yuefu Studies in Shen Yue's "Song Book·Yue Zhi". The second part, "The True Character of Yuefu Poets in Medieval Times", explores the true nature and characteristics of Yuefu poetry creation by outstanding poets Cao Zhi, Fu Xuan, Bao Zhao and Shen Yue in the medieval period. The third part is "Exploring the Songs and Ci of Medieval Yuefu", which respectively explores the original meaning and development changes of certain works in Xianghe's lyrics, drum music, dance music, and miscellaneous songs. The fourth is "Categories of Medieval Yuefu and "Wen Xuan", which explains the categories of Yuefu poems described in "Wen Xin Diao Long" and recorded in "Wen Xuan", and explores the classification of Yuefu poems through comparison between the two. The fifth part is "The Origin of Medieval Yuefu and Palace Style", which explores the connection and difference between Yuefu poetry and palace poetry, and explores the similarities and differences between the true characteristics of folk works and literati poetry.
