"We Are Stuck in the Quagmire" uses an American family to show readers the influence of our original family on our lives. Patsy spent the first half of her life living in the shadow of her parents. When she met someone she liked at school, she was forced by her father to transfer to another school; when she graduated from high school, she was unable to successfully enter another school because of her father; even after getting married, she still could not escape the hurt caused by her father. And her mother's constant indifference made Patsy sink deeper and deeper into the quagmire of life. A sudden accident finally made Patsy understand that she must overcome the problem of her parents and take her life into her own hands...
