About This Novel
This book tells the story of three coal miner families who have close personal relationships with each other in a coal mine in the western suburbs of Beijing: Huang Ziyu's family, Jiao Jixiang's family and Yu Fuli's family. It mainly revolves around the second generation of the three families - Jiao Jianguo, Huang Guoqiang, Yu Yixin and Liu Baoguo who later moved into this compound. The different fates of these four "post-50s" brothers tell the story of the "post-50s" generation observing and experiencing the heroic progress of the founding of the Republic from a unique perspective, and growing up in the tide of the times.
