About This Novel
One day in early September 1950, Sanjay Toast had just had his morning tea, and he stayed alone in the living room, stroking a waist knife with two emeralds on the handle, and fell into deep thought. More than 40 years ago, the chieftain's grandfather went on a pilgrimage to Lhasa. At that time, the British imperialists invaded Tibet. The Tibetan soldiers and civilians resisted desperately, and the battle to defend Gyantse was fierce. In order to support the front line, his grandfather donated half of the 100 taels of gold that he planned to donate to the three major temples. Soon, the British imperialists invaded Lhasa. Knowing that his grandpa was a famous chieftain of Kham who had supported the Tibetan army and people in resisting the British, they set up a trap to assassinate him. With the unique bravery of the Kham people, his grandfather launched a life-and-death struggle with several British soldiers, but was eventually killed due to being outnumbered. Even the body was taken away by them, leaving only the waist knife stained red with the blood of the enemy.
