About This Novel

Fourteenth century, Barcelona. In the dirty streets, the smell of bread mixes with the rancid stench of death. Dying slaves begged feebly; Jews were forced into shackles and struggling; traders were careful to run a subsistence business because if they went bankrupt they would lose their heads; only the nobles enjoyed everything, even the first night of the serf bride. Each character is walking on the edge of hell, and their last solace is the sea cathedral being built in the city. In the darkness of this chaotic era, the Sea Cathedral has witnessed all the hardships and also brought a little glimmer of light.
